Weekend Recap

Well the weekend flew by as always. Here's a quick recap...

On Friday Dan, Ellie and I ran down to Las Vegas. Cason and Kami stayed and played with Grandma and Grandpa. We have a condo down there that we bought a few years ago. It has been a great investment for us but we've decided it is time to sale and invest elsewhere. So we went down there to check our renters out and meet with the realtor. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean it was when we got down there. We planned on spending the day cleaning it and getting it ready to sale but all we needed to do was mop and wipe the counters, so it turned into a really quick trip. Hopefully is sales fast! It was really weird not having Cason and Kami with us. During the drive we kept saying "Isn't it so quiet". It was fun to have a day together and be able to talk, uninterrupted!  Ellie was great for us, I forgot how easy it is to just have one kid! As nice as the peace and quite was we were excited to get back to the kids. The got to go with Grandma and Grandpa and get some baby chicks so they had a great day too.

Saturday was a great day. It is conference weekend so we got to listen to our amazing church leaders teach us. I sure do love conference weekend. I am grateful to be a member of the church and to have a living Prophet. Both sessions were wonderful as always, they really focused on the family. Between sessions Dan finished his office. There was a shop in the back of the garage, so a few weeks ago we tiled it, then last week we painted the baseboards. and today he hung them and did all the finishing touches. While he was working on it I took Cason and Kami on bike ride. I pulled them in my trailer which turned out to be quite a good workout. We were planning on just finding some animals to look at and ended up going to my parents house to check on the baby chicks. We also dyed Easter eggs, which was fun for the kids. Holidays with kids are so much fun!
Bright eyed Ellie.

Dying Easter eggs in the back yard. How cute is Kami in a Bronco's jearsey?!

Cason loves to work with Dan. I love watching them work together.

Finally to today. Today is Easter, so we started off by going over to my parents house for an Easter Egg hunt (since we still don't have a back yard). It was really fun to watch the kids run around and get so excited every time they found an egg.

Then we went in to find their Easter baskets. My mom got them Easter presents too so they got pretty spoiled. They loved it all!

We decided a while back that we want to take them to Disneyland so we decided that today would be the day to surprise them. So after they got their Easter baskets we had them sit with my mom and open an envelope that said "We're going to Disneyland!" It was a surprise for my parents too because they have gone to Disneyland with all their grandkids on their first trip so we wanted to keep the tradition alive. I think my mom was just as excited as the kids! I may be the most excited of everyone though! I have been so excited I haven't been able to sleep at night. Dan has never been so it will be fun to take him not to mention how crazy it will be to see the kids there!

Kami got a Doc McStuffins doctor set for Easter and spent all day giving everyone checkups. Even Ellie.

After all the Easter excitement we watched the first session with my parents and then had a delicious dinner there, then came home for the second session.  After that we went outside and flew kites, blew bubbles, and watched the kids ride the down the dirt hill in our back yard while we swung in our patio swing. It was a great day! I'm grateful for the Easter holiday and the chance we have to focus on the Savior. I know He lives. Happy Easter!

2018 HIghlights

Picture journal catch up! Here is a quick month to month photo log of what we were up to in 2018. Time is flying by a little too fast! January- February- March- April- May- June- July- August- September- October- November- December- What a fun year! I know I am way way way behind but I just want to make sure I document some of our fun adventures so we never forget what an amazing life we have been blessed with. We have had plenty of hard times but looking back through these pictures helps us to be grateful for all the good times as well!

February 2017

February refused to slow down for us. The kids also refused to slow down for us. I sure do love these busy days with our little family.  Unfortunately, Ellie figured out how to climb out of her crib and decided that climbing out and playing with toys is much more fun than napping. So, she is done with naps, which makes this tired, pregnant mom very sad. When I put her down for naps this is usually what I find when I go back into her room. She keeps me busy! As you can see from the picture, the kids (I think it might have just been Ellie and Kami that did the damage) decided to pull ALL of the books out of the cabinet. They love to look at books, which I love. They usually just get the books out that they want to read, but this day was obviously different. Luckily, it is an easy cleanup.  Dan turned 32 this month! We had my parents over for mint brownies and ice cream to celebrate. He had to take the youth snow tubing up at Brian Head on his birthday so we didn'...

December 2016

Once again, I have fallen behind in posting our monthly journals but here is a quick picture recap of December (at least what I can remember of it).  Kami had her dance recital at the Festival of the Trees here in Hurricane. I could have died from all of her cuteness. She did great!  In early December the girls and I took a quick trip with my parents to Monterrey to visit Amy's family (evidently I didn't take any pictures while we were there haha) while Dan and Cason stayed home because of work and school.  It was a really fun trip for us girls. I always love a chance to be around my sisters and to let our kids play with their cousins. It was also a good excuse for Dan and Cason to have a boys weekend. In this picture Cason is helping Dan rake the leaves at the house of a widow he home teaches.  They also raked a lot of leaves at our house! Dan is a such a good dad and take every opportunity to teach our kids to serve others and to work hard. Al...
