This week we...

Another good week under our belts. Things calmed down a bit this week.  Here's some of the highlights.

Most of the week was just spent at home with the kids. I was supposed to coach Cason's soccer practice on Monday because his coach was out of town, but I was a little worried about how I would do it will Kami and Ellie so Dan came home from work a little early and coached for me. He's good to me. It was pretty funny. Keeping that many 4/5 on task in a big open field is no small feat.  Then we came home and had FHE but neither of us can remember what we did haha. Must not have been that memorable.

On Wednesday I took the kids to our ward play date. There were only two other women there but it was nice to let the kids play and get to know a few more people in the area. I worked again Wednesday night. I'm still training. It's a lot to take in, especially when I only go in once a week. But I'm catching on and hopefully I'll be ready to be on my own soon. Its fun to be there and see how everything operates.

Cason had his five year old check up on Friday. My heart could have burst while he was sitting on the dr. table. I'm so proud of that little boy and I can't believe how fast he is growing up. He just looked so old. Not to mention he loved every second of his check-up. He had to get two shots and was so brave. He hardly even flinched and didn't even cry. He is perfectly healthy! Kami gave him a follow-up checkup when he was done. It was pretty cute. They played really good together all week. They make me laugh non-stop. They also make me crazy sometimes.

Yesterday, Saturday, we had a fun family day. Cason had a soccer game in the morning. Dan coached. I'm pretty sure the lost 10-0. Cason is the only one on his teach that actually seems to care about scoring a goal. It is hilarious to watch kids this age play (and not play). Cason gives it his all, which makes it really fun for us to watch. I don't know if it was so fun for Dan to coach though. I don't think he'll be volunteering next year;) Then we ran some errand and went for a little drive to get to know the area a little better. We decided to take the kids to dinner... at a restaurant, which is never really a good idea but we were feeling adventurous. We went to a little bbq place here in Hurricane and they actually did pretty good. Luckily it was a very casual place.

Other big news this week is that we got rid of Kami's binky. We should have done it about a year and a half ago, but it has been such a good soother for her and helped her to go to bed so good that it never really bothered us that she still had it. But this week we decided it was time and we temporarily lost it one night so I just told her I would look for it, put her to bed and she went to bed perfectly for the next two nights. However, last night, she had a little nap in the car and ended up staying up until Dan and I went to bed at 11 and slept in our bed all night! But still no binky so we'll count it as a success:)

Today at church Dan and I had to speak in Sacrament meeting. Hopefully we will be off the hook for a while. In the past three years I think we've spoke 6 times! Dan spoke on a recent conference talk given by Pres. Eyring called "Is this not the fast that I have chosen?" He did an amazing job as always. He really has a talent for public speaking. I really love listening to him, it always makes me so proud to be married to him. I spoke on a Ensign article about obedience, sacrifice, and consecration. I felt pretty good about it. I learned a lot while I prepared it. I'm just glad it's over! We spent the rest of the day resting, playing, eating, going on a bike ride, etc.

Another good week on the books.

Here's some pics from the week.

2018 HIghlights

Picture journal catch up! Here is a quick month to month photo log of what we were up to in 2018. Time is flying by a little too fast! January- February- March- April- May- June- July- August- September- October- November- December- What a fun year! I know I am way way way behind but I just want to make sure I document some of our fun adventures so we never forget what an amazing life we have been blessed with. We have had plenty of hard times but looking back through these pictures helps us to be grateful for all the good times as well!

February 2017

February refused to slow down for us. The kids also refused to slow down for us. I sure do love these busy days with our little family.  Unfortunately, Ellie figured out how to climb out of her crib and decided that climbing out and playing with toys is much more fun than napping. So, she is done with naps, which makes this tired, pregnant mom very sad. When I put her down for naps this is usually what I find when I go back into her room. She keeps me busy! As you can see from the picture, the kids (I think it might have just been Ellie and Kami that did the damage) decided to pull ALL of the books out of the cabinet. They love to look at books, which I love. They usually just get the books out that they want to read, but this day was obviously different. Luckily, it is an easy cleanup.  Dan turned 32 this month! We had my parents over for mint brownies and ice cream to celebrate. He had to take the youth snow tubing up at Brian Head on his birthday so we didn'...

December 2016

Once again, I have fallen behind in posting our monthly journals but here is a quick picture recap of December (at least what I can remember of it).  Kami had her dance recital at the Festival of the Trees here in Hurricane. I could have died from all of her cuteness. She did great!  In early December the girls and I took a quick trip with my parents to Monterrey to visit Amy's family (evidently I didn't take any pictures while we were there haha) while Dan and Cason stayed home because of work and school.  It was a really fun trip for us girls. I always love a chance to be around my sisters and to let our kids play with their cousins. It was also a good excuse for Dan and Cason to have a boys weekend. In this picture Cason is helping Dan rake the leaves at the house of a widow he home teaches.  They also raked a lot of leaves at our house! Dan is a such a good dad and take every opportunity to teach our kids to serve others and to work hard. Al...
