February 2017

February refused to slow down for us. The kids also refused to slow down for us. I sure do love these busy days with our little family.

Unfortunately, Ellie figured out how to climb out of her crib and decided that climbing out and playing with toys is much more fun than napping. So, she is done with naps, which makes this tired, pregnant mom very sad. When I put her down for naps this is usually what I find when I go back into her room. She keeps me busy!

As you can see from the picture, the kids (I think it might have just been Ellie and Kami that did the damage) decided to pull ALL of the books out of the cabinet. They love to look at books, which I love. They usually just get the books out that they want to read, but this day was obviously different. Luckily, it is an easy cleanup.

Dan turned 32 this month! We had my parents over for mint brownies and ice cream to celebrate. He had to take the youth snow tubing up at Brian Head on his birthday so we didn't see him much on the actual day. Luckily, Cason got to go with him and had a blast hanging out with the big kids for the evening.

Cason and Kami started spring soccer! It is Kami's first year playing and we were anxious to see how she would do. In the first game she was so into it. I could have died laughing. I was shocked at how good she did. She was so determined the whole game and even scored a goal. Since then, she doesn't really care to kick the ball and just trots behind the group, content to just be on the field. She is a funny girl. In this picture, Cason is coaching her on how to be a goalie. Cason is doing great on his team as expected. He is a little athlete and loves to play any sport. This year they are playing positions and he definitely likes to play forward a lot better than defender.  He is playing with kids older than him so he looks so little out on the field.

Kami stood like this the whole time she was goalie and never moved, even when the ball would slowly roll pass her into the goal!

My parent's got two new horses, Dixie and Lady. They are great horses! My dad called and said he was riding by our house so he stopped by and gave the girls a ride around the empty lot next to our house. They loved it!

Just playing in the dirt!

At the beginning of February, Dan's little brother Matt blessed their new baby, Wes, in Casper. We decided it wasn't very practical for our whole family to go so Dan and Cason caught some cheap flights for the weekend so they could be there.

The rest of Dan's family was there too, so they had a fun weekend playing with cousins and being in cold weather!

I have a terrible memory and can't remember why I was gone this day, but for some reason, I was gone with the girls this day so Dan took off work early, picked Cason up and went on a motorcycle ride out to the desert.

Trying out curlers in the girls' hair. It didn't work, but they sure looked cute with the curlers in their hair.

I was in charge of the school bullentin board for February. I was a little stressed about what to do but it turned out pretty good. My mom and Cason were nice enough to be my helpers!

Ellie is a pretty lucky girl. She is very loved by her brother and sister!
It is going to be weird to not have her be the baby anymore. We all still consider her a baby.

The kids have gotten quite good at chores. I make them a list every Saturday morning and they zip right through them and do a pretty good job. Kami still needs some help along the way but Cason is a champ, especially when he is rewarded with 30 minutes on the iPad when he finishes!

As a Valentine's gift, my parents gave us some money to go to dinner as a family. Since, our little family typically  isn't very much fun at sit down  restaurants we decided on Chic-Fil-A. It was a really fun night. For FHE that week I made these little cards for every person in our family to fill out about each-other, like what they like about each other, what they like to do together, etc, then we read them out loud at dinner. It was really funny. Dan and I were laughing so hard at some of their responses. Kami and Cason especially got a kick out of Ellie's answers.

Cason and Kami being big kids and getting their own refills.

Checking out Grandpa's new horses for the first time. The kids are so excited to have horses again.

We haven't taken advantage of the hot tub much this winter so we decided to go over one evening and let the kids swim around. I obviously can't go in so Dan went in with them. I think they have just as much fun in the hot tub as they do a full size pool!

My calling at church is Relief Society teacher. On my week to teach this month, Sister Wixom, who was just released as the General Primary President was visiting our ward. I came in late to Sunday school (because I was home with Cason, who was sick), and saw her sitting there and instantly got so nervous. I am always a little nervous to teach but this really put me over the edge. She came and talked to me afterwards and was obviously so kind. It was a neat and scary experience for me to teach someone who I've listened to at General Conference so many times.

We had a fun visit from our friends in Saratoga Springs in February as well. We love the Bateman family and were so happy they stopped by to see us while they were in town. Brock was our Bishop there and Dan was in the bishopric with him. They became really close while they served together. They are an amazing family and we feel lucky to be their friends. It was fun to catch up with them!

Kami is my little helper. She wants to help me with my chores all the time. She felt like a pretty big deal this day because I let her cut our tomatoes and lettuce for dinner.

2018 HIghlights

Picture journal catch up! Here is a quick month to month photo log of what we were up to in 2018. Time is flying by a little too fast! January- February- March- April- May- June- July- August- September- October- November- December- What a fun year! I know I am way way way behind but I just want to make sure I document some of our fun adventures so we never forget what an amazing life we have been blessed with. We have had plenty of hard times but looking back through these pictures helps us to be grateful for all the good times as well!

December 2016

Once again, I have fallen behind in posting our monthly journals but here is a quick picture recap of December (at least what I can remember of it).  Kami had her dance recital at the Festival of the Trees here in Hurricane. I could have died from all of her cuteness. She did great!  In early December the girls and I took a quick trip with my parents to Monterrey to visit Amy's family (evidently I didn't take any pictures while we were there haha) while Dan and Cason stayed home because of work and school.  It was a really fun trip for us girls. I always love a chance to be around my sisters and to let our kids play with their cousins. It was also a good excuse for Dan and Cason to have a boys weekend. In this picture Cason is helping Dan rake the leaves at the house of a widow he home teaches.  They also raked a lot of leaves at our house! Dan is a such a good dad and take every opportunity to teach our kids to serve others and to work hard. Al...
