Day at home

Today was as pretty typical day for us. Cason didn't have preschool today so we just hung out at home all day, which sometimes makes us stir crazy and sometimes is really nice. Today it was nice. I was able to get somethings done around the house and the kids got to be kids. I love watching their little imaginations at work. Cason got a bow and arrow for Easter (he used to call bow and arrows barren-ovel up until about two weeks ago, it made us laugh every time) and went out to hunt birds in the empty lot next to our house. I snuck a few pictures from the window while he was hunting. He is such a boy. I will be sad when they build a house next to us. It is the perfect play ground for our kids. Cason and Kami spend hours playing over there. Ellie was such a good baby today. She napped a ton. I started to feel a little guilty for not holding her more. For Family Home Evening Dan taught the kids about obedience (we've been struggling with that a bit lately) and then we introduced a new incentive plan to help Cason be a better listener the first time he's asked to do something and cut down on the whining. We'll see if it works. Fingers crossed because the whining might just drive me crazy! Overall it was a good day:)

Patiently waiting for some birds to fly by. After a while he started hunting butterflies. He's obsessed with hunting right now, which is funny because neither Dan nor I hunt.
He never runs out of energy. I do.
I just love that smile!
Not long after I took this picture I was in my bathroom and could hear lots of screaming so I came out and both Cason and Kami were hurt. Cason was digging with one of Dan's shovels and put it down on his foot and Kami fell and scrapped her knee. So I got to play nurse to two patients at once. Luckily neither of them were really hurt too bad, they just needed me to acknowledge their owies and kiss them better.

2018 HIghlights

Picture journal catch up! Here is a quick month to month photo log of what we were up to in 2018. Time is flying by a little too fast! January- February- March- April- May- June- July- August- September- October- November- December- What a fun year! I know I am way way way behind but I just want to make sure I document some of our fun adventures so we never forget what an amazing life we have been blessed with. We have had plenty of hard times but looking back through these pictures helps us to be grateful for all the good times as well!

February 2017

February refused to slow down for us. The kids also refused to slow down for us. I sure do love these busy days with our little family.  Unfortunately, Ellie figured out how to climb out of her crib and decided that climbing out and playing with toys is much more fun than napping. So, she is done with naps, which makes this tired, pregnant mom very sad. When I put her down for naps this is usually what I find when I go back into her room. She keeps me busy! As you can see from the picture, the kids (I think it might have just been Ellie and Kami that did the damage) decided to pull ALL of the books out of the cabinet. They love to look at books, which I love. They usually just get the books out that they want to read, but this day was obviously different. Luckily, it is an easy cleanup.  Dan turned 32 this month! We had my parents over for mint brownies and ice cream to celebrate. He had to take the youth snow tubing up at Brian Head on his birthday so we didn'...

December 2016

Once again, I have fallen behind in posting our monthly journals but here is a quick picture recap of December (at least what I can remember of it).  Kami had her dance recital at the Festival of the Trees here in Hurricane. I could have died from all of her cuteness. She did great!  In early December the girls and I took a quick trip with my parents to Monterrey to visit Amy's family (evidently I didn't take any pictures while we were there haha) while Dan and Cason stayed home because of work and school.  It was a really fun trip for us girls. I always love a chance to be around my sisters and to let our kids play with their cousins. It was also a good excuse for Dan and Cason to have a boys weekend. In this picture Cason is helping Dan rake the leaves at the house of a widow he home teaches.  They also raked a lot of leaves at our house! Dan is a such a good dad and take every opportunity to teach our kids to serve others and to work hard. Al...
