Last week we...

This past week has flown by. Here's a quick summary of what went on at the Rich household.

Tuesday we... cleaned, cleaned, cleaned and had a nice shiny house at the end of the day! Such a good feeling! Then my mom picked the kids and I up and we ran over to the library where they picked up tons of book and a few Disney movies. Our kids love the library and I quite enjoy taking them. We go a lot. Cason got all animal books. Usually he throws in a few motorcycle/racing books but not today. I now know more about wolves, mountain lions, giraffes, lions, tigers, etc. that I could qualify for a job at the zoo. We've been borrowing lots of Disney movies too because they haven't seen most of them and I want them to know some of the characters at Disneyland. When we got back from the Library Dan went to mutual and I got the kids to bed then when he got home I went for a little run which felt really good. It's so nice to feel my body move and get back to normal after having a baby. I'm so grateful for a healthy body!

Wednesday we... stuck around the house for the morning. After I picked Cason up from preschool we had a quick lunch and I headed to the hotel with the kids for my first day training to work at the front desk. I am going to start working the swing shift at the hotel once a week from 3-11 pm. So I'll take the kids to Dan, he'll bring them home and I'll stay at work. I'm pretty excited about it. It was really fun to be there and see how much everybody loves it! It will be a nice break for me and will help me be more involved with the business. Not to mention a little extra spending money will be nice. Its really the perfect situation. I can still be a stay at home mom and will only be away from the kids for three hours that they are awake and I don't even have to get a babysitter for those hours because they'll be with Dan. I think it will be good for them to get more time with Daddy too!

Thursday we... had friends come into town. Our friends the Hebdon's from Saratoga Springs came to visit for the weekend. We got really close to them while we were neighbors and were excited to spend some time with them. They have kids exactly our kids ages so it really fun to watch them play... and fight. Just Kamany and the kids came Thursday while Kyle was at a conference in Vegas. So after they got here we just played around the house and went to the park and things like that. It's pretty chaotic having six little kids to chase around with only the two of us but it was still fun.

Friday we... hung out more with the Hebdon's. Kamany and I took the kids to the pool at the hotel in the afternoon. They loved it! I'm pretty sure our kids could swim all day and never get bored. While we were there Dan brought us out some yummy lunch from the restaurant. We didn't stay too long because guests started show up and we thought it might not be too relaxing to have the kids yelling and splashing around them. After we went swimming Kamany met Kyle in St. George for dinner with their grandparents and Dan and I hung out at home with the kids, which is really nice and relaxing. When the Hebdon's got back we stayed up way too late hanging out with them. Its fun having such great couple friends.

Saturday we... did all sorts of fun stuff. Dan and Kyle went riding in the morning. The moms and kids hung around our house and played outside. Then we all went to Cason's soccer game. He did so good. I was so proud of him. He played so hard and really put so much effort into it. I love watching him. He is just so cute out there! Then we all went over to my parents house to let the kids ride their little motorcycles and see my parents new farm animals. They added to calves this week. It was such nice weather and it was so nice to just sit outside on a blanket and watch the kids ride around. That night Dan and Kyle stayed home with the kids and Kamany and I went into dinner at the restaurant. It was soooo delicious! We sharred a farro salad which was amazing and then I had the special which was swordfish and it was seriously the best thing ever. And then to top it all off we finished with lilikoi cheesecake. My parents were there and wouldn't let us pay. They are too good to me. It was all so delicious and so nice to get away for a girls night. It was fun to watch my mom in action at the restaurant.

Today we... went to church. Dan thought it would be a good idea to not bring toys to church anymore and the kids did so good! I got called to be in charge of the Relief Society newsletter. When we moved into the ward the Bishop told me that they wouldn't give me a calling for a while since I kind of had my hands full. Then a few weeks ago he told our neighbor in the Bishopric that I was ready for a calling... so I blame him haha. just kidding, he was just watching out for me and thought it would be good to help me start getting to know more people in the ward. Anyways, church was good. Then we came home and Dan and I took turns taking naps then my mom stopped by to hold Ellie for a bit, we had dinner, hung out outside for a bit and put the kids to bed. Good day. Good week. Goodnight!

Here's a few pics from the week...

2018 HIghlights

Picture journal catch up! Here is a quick month to month photo log of what we were up to in 2018. Time is flying by a little too fast! January- February- March- April- May- June- July- August- September- October- November- December- What a fun year! I know I am way way way behind but I just want to make sure I document some of our fun adventures so we never forget what an amazing life we have been blessed with. We have had plenty of hard times but looking back through these pictures helps us to be grateful for all the good times as well!

February 2017

February refused to slow down for us. The kids also refused to slow down for us. I sure do love these busy days with our little family.  Unfortunately, Ellie figured out how to climb out of her crib and decided that climbing out and playing with toys is much more fun than napping. So, she is done with naps, which makes this tired, pregnant mom very sad. When I put her down for naps this is usually what I find when I go back into her room. She keeps me busy! As you can see from the picture, the kids (I think it might have just been Ellie and Kami that did the damage) decided to pull ALL of the books out of the cabinet. They love to look at books, which I love. They usually just get the books out that they want to read, but this day was obviously different. Luckily, it is an easy cleanup.  Dan turned 32 this month! We had my parents over for mint brownies and ice cream to celebrate. He had to take the youth snow tubing up at Brian Head on his birthday so we didn'...

December 2016

Once again, I have fallen behind in posting our monthly journals but here is a quick picture recap of December (at least what I can remember of it).  Kami had her dance recital at the Festival of the Trees here in Hurricane. I could have died from all of her cuteness. She did great!  In early December the girls and I took a quick trip with my parents to Monterrey to visit Amy's family (evidently I didn't take any pictures while we were there haha) while Dan and Cason stayed home because of work and school.  It was a really fun trip for us girls. I always love a chance to be around my sisters and to let our kids play with their cousins. It was also a good excuse for Dan and Cason to have a boys weekend. In this picture Cason is helping Dan rake the leaves at the house of a widow he home teaches.  They also raked a lot of leaves at our house! Dan is a such a good dad and take every opportunity to teach our kids to serve others and to work hard. Al...
