September 2016

I am always playing catch-up with keeping a family journal this way but life is busy and better late than never, right? September flew by, like all months seem to do these day. Here is a quick recap.
I haven't been working at the hotel much lately, but I did a morning shift to help cover for someone who couldn't come in and snapped a picture of the amazing sunrise. I can see why people like it here so much! The businesses have been doing really well. Amazing really! Dan is doing such an amazing job. I don't know how he handles all of his responsibilities. He has a lot on his plate, doing the finances for both businesses and managing the hotel, and somehow gets it done. I'm pretty sure he does the job that most businesses would have five plus people doing. He also handles all HR, marketing, construction/maintenance projects, etc. The list could really go on and on.  I have been blown away by how amazing he is at his job. I have so much confidence in his ability so I knew he would do a good job when we chose to move down here, I just didn't know he would be this good. There have been a lot of growing pains but I love to watch him be such a successful businessman. Sometimes I listen to him on the phone or watch him work and wonder how I managed to marry such an awesome, smart guy. He takes his responsibility to provide for our family seriously and I am so grateful for that.

Hurricane has the cutest small town parades and I make sure we don't miss any of them. I don't know why but I love taking the kids to parades. I think this parade was the Peach Days parade. Brooke, Jason and Rylan were visiting us this weekend so they tagged along. Here Ellie and Rylan are pushing their strollers up and down the parade route waiting for it to begin.

Kami started preschool!! She was so excited, as you can tell. I was excited for her too. She is such a smart girl. I'm pretty sure she started preschool ready for kindergarten.

We carpool with our neighbor, Knox, who happens to be her best friend. They were so cute on the way to their first day that I had to snap a pic.

My parents pool was finished in September! Which left plenty of time for us to take advantage of it before it got too cold. It was really fun to watch the construction and progress.

The kids were beyond excited when it started to fill up.

Just horsing around with Dad. Their favorite activity.

My parents were out of town the day that their pool was finished so we broke it in for them. As you can tell, we are REALLY going to like having a pool so close by that we can use anytime!

Dan and his dad and brothers go on an annual motorcycle trip. They rode close to 1000 miles on their KLRs in just three days. This year they started in Eagle Mountain, rode through the mountains down to Marysville, over to Capital Reef National Park and back to Eagle Mountain. He always has tons of fun and I am always happy when he gets home safe and sound!
One night while he was gone my Dad, the kids and I went to look at a property for sale near Zion. We didn't know exactly where we were going and the road got a little rough so we decided to get out and walk. It turned out to be quite the hike! It was a really fun adventure though. I think we ended up walking about five miles with the kids in pajamas and slippers. They were troopers and did an awesome job keeping up.
So... I don't know if I've mentioned this yet but we are expecting baby #4!!!! Which means this cute little girl is going to be a big sister!! The due date is April 30th. Being pregnant in the first trimester with three other little kids running around is no walk in the park, which is one reason it was nice to get out on this particular day and get some fresh air and exercise.
It was absolutely breathtaking up there!

Luckily my dad was there to help carry Ellie. Since I didn't know we would be hiking I didn't come prepared with a baby bjorne or anything, so we took turns carrying her.

By the end of the night the kids were getting pretty tired but I was still impressed with how good they did.

Riding scooters in the back yard is a common occurrence for the girls on a nice fall day.

Cason is a football fanatic these days. He eat, sleeps, and breaths anything football. I love that he loves sports. It is so fun to watch him.

I love this picture! These two are best of friends and this pictures shows how happy they make each other.

Our kids love the dentist! Cason doesn't look that happy in the picture but, trust me, he was! It is like Christmas morning when I tell them they get to go to the dentist. Pediatric dentists sure know what they're doing these days, with all the electronics and toys, it makes it so nice not to fight the kids when its time to go to the dentist.

Running errands with Grandma. The girls love grandma!

We promised the kids all summer that we could camp in the back yard and September seemed like  the perfect time of year. So we set up the tent and had a family camp-out. Ellie and I didn't actually sleep in the tent but we had fun none the less. Cason and Kami were in Heaven. I love having little kids, the little things mean the most to them. I love to see them happy!

They have a good Dad, he is so good at getting down on their level to play with them.

2018 HIghlights

Picture journal catch up! Here is a quick month to month photo log of what we were up to in 2018. Time is flying by a little too fast! January- February- March- April- May- June- July- August- September- October- November- December- What a fun year! I know I am way way way behind but I just want to make sure I document some of our fun adventures so we never forget what an amazing life we have been blessed with. We have had plenty of hard times but looking back through these pictures helps us to be grateful for all the good times as well!

February 2017

February refused to slow down for us. The kids also refused to slow down for us. I sure do love these busy days with our little family.  Unfortunately, Ellie figured out how to climb out of her crib and decided that climbing out and playing with toys is much more fun than napping. So, she is done with naps, which makes this tired, pregnant mom very sad. When I put her down for naps this is usually what I find when I go back into her room. She keeps me busy! As you can see from the picture, the kids (I think it might have just been Ellie and Kami that did the damage) decided to pull ALL of the books out of the cabinet. They love to look at books, which I love. They usually just get the books out that they want to read, but this day was obviously different. Luckily, it is an easy cleanup.  Dan turned 32 this month! We had my parents over for mint brownies and ice cream to celebrate. He had to take the youth snow tubing up at Brian Head on his birthday so we didn'...

December 2016

Once again, I have fallen behind in posting our monthly journals but here is a quick picture recap of December (at least what I can remember of it).  Kami had her dance recital at the Festival of the Trees here in Hurricane. I could have died from all of her cuteness. She did great!  In early December the girls and I took a quick trip with my parents to Monterrey to visit Amy's family (evidently I didn't take any pictures while we were there haha) while Dan and Cason stayed home because of work and school.  It was a really fun trip for us girls. I always love a chance to be around my sisters and to let our kids play with their cousins. It was also a good excuse for Dan and Cason to have a boys weekend. In this picture Cason is helping Dan rake the leaves at the house of a widow he home teaches.  They also raked a lot of leaves at our house! Dan is a such a good dad and take every opportunity to teach our kids to serve others and to work hard. Al...
